Andreas Albrecht
It sometimes takes a rainy day
one by one
the audience had arrived
while one by one
the raindrops kept falling.
they had all come.
the posh ladies in their cocktail dresses
in the company of stupid fat little men
the educated ones with "intellectual" written
all over their foreheads and those
among us who still believe
that Stradivari is an Italian icecream.
under a tree we had sought shelter
and sat down on already soaking wet grass
but when we had our bottle of sparkling wine
everyone and everything had changed.
we were all washing down the cold chicken
and turkey, the cheese and sandwiches
with the wine we had brought
while the rain had washed down
all the arrogance, intellect and ignorance,
down and away into the river and you had suddenly
turned around to me and said:
I love you.
And while Chopin´s Raindrop Prelude would have
been much more appropriate than any of these
Mozart, Strauss and Beethoven music,
no ballett in this world
could have been more colourful
than those hundreds of dancing umbrellas
below us
and not clearer could I have seen
through the rain
and the clouds
to find
the sun and to
realize
if it takes a rainy day
to make me happy
let there be rainy days
a many
Vorheriger TitelNächster TitelDie Szene:
Kenwood Manor House, Hampstead, Nord London
Der Anlass:
Open Air Classical Konzert
