Dahme III won the season 2003/2004 in their league…

When I was eleven years old, my parents wanted me to do some sports activity. So I joined the table-tennis club of TSV Dahme at the end of the 5th class. Also, my friend Ross joined and two years later Frank came along, too. He had already some table-tennis experiences. The first years we played in the youth league. Two years ago, the third adult table-tennis team of TSV Dahme was founded by our coach and us.

The season

At begin of the season 03/04 we lost many matches, but in the back round we won all matches. So we were very proud of us. After the last game of the season we were at the top of the table, but we had the same points as Uckro. That is why we had to make a decision match on March 23, 2004 at 6 o’clock, the standard playtime of our league. We played the game in the gymnasium of the primary school of Dahme, the usual place where we train.

The match

Half past 5 we, Dahme III, opened the gymnasium and prepared anything. Our opponents Uckro, arrived just in time. After a short warm up we began the match. At first there were the doubles. I played with Herbert, first double, and Aggi with Marcus, second double. The first double won really narrow and the second double lost high. Before the last two matches the score was 6:6. There were only two final matches, which decided everything. I was very excited. Then I began to play against Richter. I lost the first set, but then I concentrated on the match and relaxed. In the end I won easygoing the next three sets. I was very proud. Ross had also begun to play against Schönfelder, as I finished my match. He lost the first two sets, but then he got into practise on Schönfelder and won the deciding match. The consequence was that we won in our league, now we are able to ascend in the next league. On the village celebration we going to celebrate this and our coach want to pay anything. That will be a nice day. Unfortunately, we probably have to dissolve our team in the next season. But we will see, what will happen…
