Tommy Turkey sighed. He shook his head and laid down in the close to fully occupied chicken coop.
He felt his triple heartbeats and wiped his right brow of anxiety sweat. He closed his eyes and felt the straw and thick cotton blankets against his back. He made an effort to get comfortable so he began jostling his body until his back made enough of an impression in the blankets to be comfortable....well as comfortable as he could get a week before.. Black Thursday. The chickens around him clucked loudly and they flew away from him in a flurry of wide wings and feathers.
He felt a wave of fear sweep over him as he thought about his demise that was sure to come in seven days on Thanksgiving aka Black Thursday. And those thoughts made his 20 pound body shake and his neck extended and contracted as he emitted a chain of gobbles he couldn't control; a sure sign of "Gobbler-its".
But then he remembered where he was and he calmed down as he thought about his current location. He was secure. He was alive and would remain that way, way past Black Thursday. At least that's what
TURKEY CENTRAL and their A.I. staff assured him. And it was because of their own transformation ability into ducks and other birds of so many varieties that he felt safe.
TOMMY TURKEY trusted them. Yes. Safe. Secure. He would live that new life and be a chicken. Then he would just have to survive Chicken meal Christmas and all would be well..at least for another year...
